Brian has over 25 years experience in the chemical and oil and gas industries. After helping build a PVT laboratory and operating well site sampling for British Gas he became project team leader for the Fluids team of the Gas Research Centre managing technical support and research projects.
Research covered PVT, NMR, fluid flow in porous media, gas condensate recovery, oil migration and geochemistry. Later Brian worked for BG-group as a petroleum engineer before joining Helix-RDS consultancy in 2002. Brian left to found Petrophase in 2004.
Brian has presented talks to the Society of Petroleum Engineers on fluid characterisation and has published scientific papers on oil and gas behaviour. He is a member of the Energy Institute and the Society of Petroleum Engineers where he is co-chair of the Phase Behaviour Technical Interest Group.
